Peters ( and Marys)

This post is dedicated to all peters and marys ( which i guess will include almost all ppl xcept me;)

Its hard to understand, sometimes, how two extreme cults coexist in the same time frame and space frame in this universe. not just that . there r split personalities within the same kind of ppl. for further damnation of voluntary split personalities pls refer keshav's blog http://avuthu-pottu.blogspot.com/2006/04/online-hunk-offline-junk.html. thats a totally different track though.

so what r the two extreme cults?

  1. ppl who belong to local kannama pettai and talk like cool dudes. they use words like kinda, thingi, anyways and and more junk.
  2. then there r those same set of ppl who use " scene, sirupillaithanam, daaragiduva, bulb, dabba and GOD save, more of such lingos.

first let us consider the first point. what is thingi? why add i to thing to make it thingi? anyway is a simple word. why add s to it? athu enna dude? do i head from australia? whats kinda? does it mean u r kind?

oh man!!!! pls give me a brk. please man.

next comes our local shtyle - madras baashai and all.

i bet there r more brahmin female fans for the kind of gaana songs which vijay plays in every film of his. ( my own cousin sisters r a testimony to this). i cannot stand this daaanguthu songs anytime in my life.

i hv to almost plead with my sisters to talk in normal language.

the funny thing is both these cults r so different and yet attract the same masses.

we all have an identity of our own. and most of us forget it. we painstakingly adapt and assimilate such stuff. and r also proud of being a part of such communities.

well well well. this is a difficult issue. no point raising. nobody is going to listen.

who cares? I do!!!!

Anyways this peter kinda thingi's gonna rock!!!!

kinda is okay .. its a short form of kind of ....
and in thingi the "i" is to stress the unknown factor ...
every a and i has its purpose....

yedho yennamo pessito pora ... viden ...

@ harini,
i--> unknown factor in thingi!!

how?
again,

"kind of" has 6 letters, "kinda" has 5 letters. so u achieve an economy of 2 cursor spaces( including the blank u need between the two words)

wat a saving!!!! athu kooda parava illai. the peter effect is much more than the economy achieved.

Seri Seri... peter-mary mathri naala pasangala avuthu-pottuta ;) ....

But yes ... even i am against using slang in all forms .. spoils the purity of the language ... This "hmmmm" during chats is another worst form of usage of language ....

full marks to that point reg 'hmmmm' during chatting sessions!

@Ravi Shankar

--> Well said !! Ppl display their best photographs not only at orkut but at all possible locations ( The word best is personalized and differs from person to person) ...... That's natural !!

--> My blog is my personal observation only based on the number of people i have observed and ara will certify that indeed that is what happens here .... Ppl online and offline are like two opposite poles ......
It might not be taken as a generalization of all people ...

--> will definitely try to read lonnie lee ... thanks for the pointer

--> As for attention, that also differs from person to person .. Some ppl are happy with what they have and do not crave for attention .. Our amrutaunshu is a live example of this !!! ... some absolutely cannot live without it ... The online hunk is just the result of this .... He cannot get the same thing offline but yes !!! Online offers a genuine chance for him to do so ......

Mr. Ravi,

enna sonna? ppl dont write simply for their satisfaction?

and why cant ppl write in a notebook rather on net?

take ur case. u write a lot of posts with one, two or three lines. u write for that moment rather than for writing sth which ppl cud read. so doesn't that mean u write just like that without expecting anybody to read?

agree that sometimes u write sth which ppl can make sense. at the same time, there r times when u just write sth without seeking attention. notebooks have become passe nowadays. so decline in interest in writing manually.

btw,

let me pass out....we will make the movie...." Naan AAchaaram....Nee Abachaaram...."

runaway hit for sure!!!!
